Will you inspect and test for mold in my home or business?

We will first inspect and then depending on what is discovered or is requested by the property owner; run a variety of tests to ascertain what pathogens are present and what potential harmful health and safety risks could develop.  If we find any conditions or harmful molds and pathogens which are determined to or could present serious problems for the inhabitants; we will make recommendations for the remediation of the problems.

How does your treatment system work?

We utilize O3 (Ozone) technology in our decontamination/sterilization remediation process to render All Pathogens – Mold, Mildew, Bacteria, Viruses, Fungus, Germs, Allergens, Dust Mites, Odors, & Other Contaminants to an inert state.  O3 (Ozone) is one of the most powerful and safest oxidants known.  It is widely used in water purification/treatment systems (water treatment plants, bottled water, and swimming pools/spas), food decontamination (meat, fish, poultry, fruits and vegetables), and hospital and hotel sanitization systems.  Unlike other treatments (i.e. demolition and chemical), O3 (Ozone) has the ability to destroy pathogens without destroying property or the environment.

O3 (Ozone) is a colorless gas that is generated and pumped through the entire building, brought up to levels which will destroy all pathogens and reverts back to O2 (Oxygen) when it is finished.

How long will it take to remediate my property?

Obviously that is dependent on the size of the property being treated.  A typical home takes about 2 to 4 hours.  Some are less and some take longer depending on the amount of contamination.  Our O3 (Ozone) technology treatment system will make your property a safer place to live and work.

Can we be in the property while it is being treated?

Whereas O3 (Ozone) will not harm your contents at the levels we use; it is not recommended for people and pets to be exposed without protective gear while the property is being treated.  Once the treatment is completed, all can safely return usually within an hour.

What is treated?

We treat the entire property and contents.  O3 (Ozone) is a gas that is heavier than air and drops in the atmosphere.  O3 (Ozone) will go everywhere you let it go.  When the treatment is completed, the property will be free of harmful pathogens and odors.

Will my insurance company pay for the treatment?

This depends on your insurance policy; you should consult with your carrier about your coverage and exclusions.

Is mold dangerous?

There are many different types of mold species, some are benign some are extremely toxic.  People with underdeveloped or compromised immune systems (children, elderly, pregnant mothers, asthmatics, people with allergies, post operative patients, breathing disorders, HIV, etc.) are at the greatest risk for adverse reactions to exposure of mold.  The CDC (Center for Disease Control) in Atlanta tells us that there are thousands of mold species that produce Mycotoxins that are capable making us sick.

Will the mold return?

Toxic mold can return if the conditions for growth are present.  We live in a tropical area where there is plenty of heat and humidity, ideal conditions for mold growth.  Generally speaking; water is the problem, mold is the symptom.

What can I do to protect my property from toxic mold?

FEMA and the EPA released recommendations in April, 2006 for the containment of mold growth for hurricane victims; you should maintain an environment where the temperature does not exceed 76˚ and the relative humidity 55%.

24 thousand mold spores can fit in the area the size of a postage stamp.  If the right conditions are present (moisture and heat) each spore can grow a colony of spores within 24 to 48 hours and start spreading and contaminating your property.

It is up to you to protect your family, employees and guests from harmful molds and to make conditions for further contamination as difficult as possible.

Protect your property from any possible water intrusions (leaking roofs, broken water pipes, plumbing problems, drainage problems, etc.).  If you identify a water intrusion problem, repair it immediately, completely dry the area, maintain a temperature and relative humidity at or below the FEMA and EPA guidelines, and CALL MOLD & ODOR MASTERS TO TREAT THE PROPERTY.
